BRAZIL

So my friends and I were thinking spring break in South America, sounds fun, so lets go to BRAZIL! That is exactly what we did. We had one obstacle though, visas. We decided to get our visas a week before leaving..huge mistake! Getting a visa for Brazil in Buenos Aires is the most difficult thing to get. The embassy here in Buenos Aires only gives out 6 visas a day, to anyone not just Americans! I went three times, before I was able to get the visa! We hand to camp out in front of the embassy 4 hours before it opened at 5am! Some of my friends had to get theirs illegally since the embassy was so outrageous! Here is us waiting for the visas:
This picture was taken around 8am
We decided to go to Florianopolis in Brazil since we did not want to pay $700 for a plane ticket to Rio. We actually took a 25 hour bus ride to Florianopolis and then 25 hours back, its not that bad. We stayed in a small town just South of Florianopolis which was the best decision. This small beach town treated us very nicely and the people were extremely friendly. The beach was incredible, the water was warm and the sand was extremely fine and white. There would be random tropical storms throughout the day but they would only last for 10 minutes, other than that the sun was always out! Our place that we stayed at is called a pasado. They are considerd huts. We had two of these huts. They each have three rooms with two beds in each and a kitchen in each (which saved us money). The places had more than one balcony with hammocks on everyone which was extremely relaxing after a day at the beach (hard life!)
We spent two days surfing/hanging out/ hiking/ exploring around our local beach which was extremely fun! Brazil is extremely tropical so there are lots of flowers, everything is really green and it is literally paradise! The third day my three friends and I went on a 15 mile hike to another beach town. The walk was amazing, we saw big cows, beautiful mountains, lakes, houses, stores everything pretty much! The following day we headed to Florianopolis were we meet up with one of our friends, friend that lives there. Her friend owns a part of the city, which made it extremely fun and cheap for us! His family owns this resort as well and we went there and hung out, then went clubbing at night for free! The following day we had a huge thunderstorm that even caused the power to go out and we had to use our IPOD lights and candles to see, it was a lot of fun and the lighting there was outrageously cool!
Overall Brazil offered us so much and I will never forget the experience that I had there, by far one of the best spring breaks of my life! Enjoy these pictures:
